Our Fire Technicians carry out 6 monthly inspections on fire blankets to the Australian Standards AS1851.
Fire Blankets are suitable for any fires relating to cooking fats and oils. Fire blankets should be easily accessible in kitchens and near stove tops and well signposted so everyone can easily identify and get access when required. If a Fire blanket has been used, it should be replaced immediately.
If you suspect anything to be wrong with your fire blanket, it’s best to get one of our Fire Technicians to take a look even if you aren’t due for your next inspection.
If you have never used a fire blanket, we do offer staff training and give everyone the opportunity to put a real fire out with a blanket. This ensures that if the time comes, you can be prepared.
When our Fire Technicians install fire blankets, they are installed to the latest Australian Standards AS1851. This includes making sure they are accessible in case of a fire, signage is clear, and placed in the correct position.
