Fire extinguishers and Fire Blankets are your first line of defence in the event of a fire.
ESP Fire’s fire extinguisher & fire blanket services include the regular testing of your equipment to ensure correct function and confirm compliance with the Australian Standards AS1851.
We do all our testing under the Australian standards AS1851 which state that fire extinguishers need to be inspected 6 monthly and 12 monthly.
Although the council has some say in what is required in your building when constructed or renovated, your insurance company requires all fire equipment to be compliant to Australian Standards. In some cases you can save money on your insurance policies, and we can help you navigate this.
The AS 1851 service program includes:
We supply and install new fire extinguishers to businesses across the mid north-coast including Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Grafton, Port Macquarie and everywhere in between to suit your site requirements.
Different types of fire extinguishers are required depending on the materials that may catch fire. Using the wrong extinguisher in the event of a fire will often lead to bigger problems.
ESP Fire will advise you which extinguisher is the most effective for you.
Our Fire Technicians carry out 6 monthly inspections on fire blankets to the Australian Standards AS1851.
Fire Blankets are suitable for any fires relating to cooking fats and oils. Fire blankets should be easily accessible in kitchens and near stove tops and well signposted so everyone can easily identify and get access when required. If a Fire blanket has been used, it should be replaced immediately.
If you suspect anything to be wrong with your fire blanket, it’s best to get one of our Fire Technicians to take a look even if you aren’t due for your next inspection.
If you have never used a fire blanket, we do offer staff training and give everyone the opportunity to put a real fire out with a blanket. This ensures that if the time comes, you can be prepared.
When our Fire Technicians install fire blankets, they are installed to the latest Australian Standards AS1851. This includes making sure they are accessible in case of a fire, signage is clear, and placed in the correct position.
